Amber Jacoby co-founded Helping Hearts in 2022, drawing on a professional background in health care administration and bereavement support, as well as a personal understanding of the unique challenges facing the bereaved. Her professional experience includes hundreds of hours donated to youth and adult hospice care, and more than 20+ years as a grief support facilitator, working with children and adults who are processing the death of a loved one. Amber became aware of the need for services like those provided by Helping Hearts following the sudden death of her husband, Dave, in 2009. Despite being surrounded by friends and family, Amber found herself overwhelmed by the obstacles, red tape and unforeseen responsibilities that followed Dave’s passing. The formation of Helping Hearts stemmed from Amber’s desire to use her personal and professional experience to guide others by offering confidential, competent and caring consultation as they manage the business of life after loss.
